Rally Against Cancer

The Maine Rally Against Cancer initiative is series of benefit tennis tournaments and events across clubs in Maine to support families in our community affected by cancer.

❋ Our Goal

Rally Against Cancer’s goal is to bring together tennis clubs across Maine to raise funds for cancer charities and honor the resilience, generosity, and unity of our tennis community.

2026 Rally Against Cancer beneficiaries are the Dempsey Center in Lewiston, ME and 2-3 families in the Maine tennis community who are affected by cancer.

❋ Our Roots

Rally Against Cancer was founded by Seth Meyer, a longtime tennis player, cancer survivor, and Tennis Director at Midcoast Recreation Center in Rockport, ME.

While undergoing treatment for Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, Seth found hope and strength in the unwavering support of the tennis community. That experience inspired him to give back.

❋ How it Works

Funds are raised through:

Tournament fees that are collected and then donated by the organizing club
Direct individual donations
Corporate sponsorships

All donations are processed by Midcoast Recreation Center, a 501(c)(3), and granted to the designated beneficiaries. No participating club receives financial benefit.
