The thrill of the game…
Adult Learn to Play Hockey, for ages 15+, is the perfect starting point for all who want to experience the joy of hockey! Available at the start of the ice season, new players can learn the basics, and intermediate players can work on skills. Gear available to borrow.
For pick-up hockey throughout the season, we offer Stick & Puck whenever we have open ice, as well as morning Dusty Pucks for players 55 and older.
Some of our community members lead “contract groups” at different levels for weekly play. The women's hockey group, run by Midcoast Women’s Ice Hockey, has been growing rapidly and always welcome new players. Other community captains host co-ed evening groups - if you’re interested in joining a contract group, email mrccontractleaders@midcoastrec.org.
We run two leagues each season, starting in October: an Adult A League, our fastest league for advanced players, with high-level competition and refereed games; and an Adult B League, for intermediate level players or those who don’t want the intensity of A League.
Fortunately, the Midcoast has a whole lot of hockey to enjoy. Whether at Midcoast Rec, with our friends at other organizations, or for off-ice training in the spring/summer, the love of the game goes on!
