Sarah grew up playing community tennis through her town's parks and recreation department in Ashland, Ohio. By the time she was a teenager, she practically lived at the local courts--training, competing, and teaching younger kids how to play tennis. She went on to play competitively in high school and college and continued to coach tennis in her community.

Recently, she helped coach the Berea College Women's tennis team. She also taught juniors in the Mountain Tennis Circuit's programs (in Kentucky). She is delighted to be back in Maine and join the teaching staff at the MRC. She loves the organization's commitment to make tennis accessible and available to all people in the community. Sarah lives in Waldoboro with her husband, Andy, and their two children.

Matt first started playing tennis when he was in 5th grade. After playing off and on for a few years, including participating in a couple of MRC’s summer camps, he began taking lessons and participating in clinics more often. Eventually, Matt joined the Camden Hills Regional High School boy’s tennis team.

After graduating from CHRHS, Matt moved to Portland to attend college, where he played tennis often, participating in numerous tournaments and USTA League matches. Matt has had the pleasure of working with many great tennis coaches in Maine, both in the Camden/Rockport area and in Portland. He is excited to give back to an organization that’s been so instrumental in developing his passion for tennis.

Debbie (Deb) McCausland has been a tennis teaching pro since 2004. She didn’t start playing tennis until she was forty years old but really grew to have a passion for the sport. Deb decided she wanted to help others build the passion and get exercise while she was doing something fun.

Deb is certified through the USPTR. She plays on and coaches USTA Women’s Leagues and Mixed Doubles leagues. She played on the MRC team the first year they started and the team made it as far as Nationals in Tucson Arizona! The team may have lost, but they had so much fun! Deb teaches all levels of play and loves seeing people enjoy the sport and develop new friendships, while getting healthier at the same time. Deb lives in Camden.
