Public Skate
Public Skate is a great time for anyone to get on the ice! We offer regularly scheduled times when everyone in the community can enjoy ice skating.
Public Skate Details

Safety gear, such as helmets and knee pads, are strongly recommended. MRC does not have helmets or other safety gear to rent.

We offer free skate aids for children new to skating. These are loaned out on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Both figure skate and hockey skates in children and adult sizes are available to rent.

Public Skate passes non-refundable and non-transferable, and must be purchased per Public Skate session.

Learn to Skate
Getting up and gliding can be hard, but we make it easy and fun with our Learn to Skate lessons, with classes for youth and adults!
We follow Learn to Skate USA® programs to sharpen focus and balance, building confidence as well as skills. Start here to learn the basics and start loving ice time!

Whether on wheels or blades, hockey is fast, thrilling, and fun! We offer many ways for your kids to enjoy the game and develop their skills. From the very first time on skates to travel team play, we've got options for all ages and levels.
Adult Hockey
We've got hockey for everyone! From your first time on the ice to games, no matter your skill level, age, or gender, we've got you covered. Click the link to browse programs and details.
Most teams are organized by private contracts. If you are unsure which team would be best for you, contact our Arena Director, Jesse Simko, at jesse@midcoastrec.org for assistance.
Skate Sharpening
MRC offers skate sharpening on a 24-hour turnaround basis.
Same day sharpening may be available on a day-to-day basis. Please call ahead before bringing your skates in to check availability.
