Junior Learn to Skate Programs

In today's fast-paced world, children juggle more tasks than ever. Learn to Skate USA teaches your kids lessons to sharpen their focus and provide greater balance on and off the ice. As they conquer challenges on their paths to amazing, new worlds well beyond the world of skating will happen right before their eyes. Our Lean to Skate classes include Snowplow SAM, Basic Skills, and Hockey Skills! These classes run in 6 week sessions and we do allow participants to sign up midway through sessions.

Snowplow SAM

Wednesdays 5:50pm-6:15pm

Saturdays 11:10am-11:35am

Ages 3-6

Cost: $60

A 4-level introductory program that consists of preliminary skills for children ages 3-6 or for the skater not yet ready for the "Basic Six" or Hockey Skills program. Skaters participate in a group setting and are encouraged to progress at their own unique developmental rate. Helmets are strongly recommended for skaters 6 years and younger.

Basic Skills

This USFS Basic Skills program offers skill appropriate classes to all skaters from beginner through advanced. These classes are a great way to learn all the basic skills of skating enabling students to pursue interests in figure skating, hockey, or recreational. Through this class, skaters earn USFS Badges; levels 1-6. A wonderful way to learn to ice skate in a fun relaxed atmosphere!

Hockey Skills

Wednesdays 5:50pm-6:40pm

The Hockey curriculum is designed to teach the fundamentals of hockey skating. In four badge levels, skaters will learn how to be more proficient and agile on the ice. Proper skating techniques for the game of hockey are the primary focus of the levels. All elements will be taught without a puck. Skaters will learn the basic hockey stance, stride, knee bend , use of edges and other necessary fundamentals to be successful in hockey practices and game situations.
