Learn to Skate

U6 Learn to Skate

A 3-level introductory program that consists of preliminary skills for children ages 4-5 or for the skater not yet readyfor the "Basic Eight" program. Skaters participate in a group setting and are encouraged to progress at their own unique developmental rate. Helmets are strongly recommended for skaters 6 years and younger.

Basic Skills 1-8

This USFS Basic Skills program offers skill appropriate classes to all skaters from beginner through advanced. These classes are a great way to learn all the basic skills of skating. Basic skills instruction enables students to pursue interests in figure skating, hockey, recreational, or speed skating. Through this class skaters earn USFS Badges; levels 1-8. A wonderful way to learn to ice skate in a fun relaxed atmosphere!

Learn to Skate for Adults

We offer the same basic skills badge program for adults as well but in your own class with fellow adult skaters OR you may also join any Specialized classes we offer {Basic 6 or higher}. Contact the Skating Director if you have any questions.

Learn to play Hockey

U6 Hockey Initiation

The U6 Hockey Program is for children ages 6 and under, who are interested in playing hockey. Participants are grouped by skill ability. We will guide each participant throug the fundamentals of hockey. From laerning how to stand up, to shooting a puck, out program is designed to learn the FUNdamental skills of the game. Out progressive teaching techniques are meant to develop skills while having a great experience. The focus is fun and becoming familiar with being on the ice. Basics of hockey are focused on the skills presented in a variety of formats ( games, relay races, ice soccer, etc.) to emphasize skating and hockey skills.

Learn to Play Hockey

The Learn to Play Hockey progran is for children 8-17 yeard old, who are just starting to play hockey and are not yet ready for competitive play. The program is designed to establish skating FUNdamentals and bring kids up to speed with what is age appropriate so that they can play the game safely and have fun while doing it. Once a player has graduated from our program, they can join a team with MCSA.
